yellow boots

After over a year of being the first choice in footwear on three continents, four seasons and two climate extremes. It's time to retire a very special pair of boots.
E put them on a a few weeks ago and it took ten minutes of tugging and pulling to get them off her feet. Luckily, we were at home. Less embarrassing and traumatic than when she got her elbow stuck in the hymn book holder on the church pew last week--during the closing prayer.  But anyway, I was faced with the harsh reality that she had finally out grown her trusty, yellow boots. (And may even one day outgrow Blankie-Blankie, Tosser and her sole use of the pronoun "me." tear.)

So, I sent an email to my sister in NY who was leaving for London and within a few weeks we had:
 Some new red boots.

They've been worn almost non-stop since we unpacked them--in 98 degree weather and super humidity. But I am told the rainy season should start next month, so maybe then people will stop thinking E's crazy and I'm completely negligent for letting E wear them in this weather.

Goodbye yellow boots

We'll see you again when Vi's feet are size 6-8.

Awesome post. Those boots have been through a lot.

Not to change the subject but I get the feeling there has been some really long posts since I posted about Elie's intro to taxidermy and my dream van. Definitely a little suspicious.

I miss Elie!!! Those pictures of her in her old yellow boots got me teary eyed. She looks so cute in the new red ones, and definitely older too. You did a good job of capturing her love for the old ones. Great Post!!!
