Which is probably the nightmare of a germaphobe (that's why we didn't invite you, Dan).
E came down with Hand Foot and Mouth Disease last week. Not to be confused with Hoof and Mouth or Mad Cow, both of which are only in animals. I learn something new every time she gets sick.
It's been going around Bangkok and a lot of her friends have had it but I thought we were safe. I brag all the time about her immune system, she hasn't been sick since before she turned three (unless you count the 'giant wad of something stuck in her nose for 3 months' incident, which I choose not to...ever).
Clearly my pride needed to be tamed and when E climbed out of the pool and told me she was feeling a little tired, I knew something was wrong. Twenty four hours later, when her fever was on it's way out, the spots starting coming. By no means were they limited to her hands, feet or mouth. In fact, I think that's where she has them the least. Basically her body looks like a small pox patient with bad acne. Luckily, it's not small pox and she has enjoyed this sickness to it's fullest. She has watched every movie we own multiple times and eaten her weight in ice cream (doctor recommendation). I'm starting to wonder how I can contract HFMD and then take a time machine back to my youth.
After a few days of house quarantine, I was ready to tie Strawberry Shortcake and all her very berry pals to the tracks of the Dinosaur Train--I'm not good at staying home. So we mixed things up and threw a tea party.
It was a big success.
Rocky got home just in time for the party and E requested he stay in his "fancy clothes" they compromised.
It was very important that her lizard bowl feature very prominently. Rocky bought for her in Jakarta. I'm not sure whether he enjoys buying things for her because he knows how much she'll love them or how much I'll hate them.
The princess opted out of muffins--which she very begrudgingly allows me to use her cupcake pan to make--and went for a quesadilla in appearances only, instead downing several cups of Sprite and juice.
It was a great way to learn more about some of her more sexually ambiguous friends.
Blankie is a boy.
Boomer, who was a boy before arriving in Thailand is now a girl. (I'm sure the original Boomer is rolling over in his anonymous grave.)
Vi was invited, so far she is HFMD free which is becoming more and more of a miracle as I watch how often her personal space invaded by E. (that's the nicest way to say what goes on here.)
Dora and Swiper the Fox shared a chair of course. Swiper was a free gift from our bank in Switzerland. When E first got it, she was so afraid of owning a Swiper fox, she took it home and hid it in a suitcase, we found it three months later. Now she's totally okay with his blatant thievery.
Even sick, E is blurry in all my pictures. She needs her own shutter speed setting. It's probably the Sprite, ice cream, juice diet.
She's back to her hyper, happy self, we just have to wait for the bumps to clear up to go swimming again. This might be the longest week of her life.

Blankie looks so dapper!
I hate that lizard bowl too.
I'm glad you guys made the best out of Hand Foot Mouth, it is not fun- (Simon had it the week after Brigham was born) Love the Tea party and I was laughing how everything is dressed up!
Dude invent a time machine because I would LOVE to see you as a kid! Your hilarious as an adult...as a kid? I don't know if my abs could take it. The tea party looks like a huge success. Elie has a sweet stuffed animal collection started...
It's just missing a black cabbage patch doll.
That lizard plate is horrible!
