One of my favorite things about Bangkok is E's school. I know it's just preschool and therefore not really important but it's still a very neat school. It's part of a elementary so they do activities with the whole school. This past week we had International Day.
I helped out at the American booth, we did a national park-nature theme. It was fun trying to explain the concept of s'mores to the kids. We handed out a plastic bag with a chocolate, graham cracker and marshmallow and they all looked really confused, a lot of them tried to hand back the marshmallow.
Doing a little Bollywood dancing in India.
I think this is Holland but it might be France. Either way, there's wine.
This was Germany's station, here she is doing some kind of obstacle course but right before they told the story of Hansel and Gretel and one of the girls in her class started crying. Well played, Grimm
Making a viking bracelet in Scandinavia.
Learning where in the world the island of Reunion is.
Vietnam.
She was supposed to come in clothes that represented her country but this was the best we could do. (The medal is from the India booth. Though now that I think about it, it would have made a great addition to her American costume.)
Explaining that she knows someone from Greece--Hercules. She's pretty much a cultural genius.
Enjoying some campfire songs in America. (We were right after Canada on the rotation and all the kids came with there hands sticky from syrup. Probably Canada's payback for us taking the school's Christmas trees.) As soon as she arrived at our station she told everybody in her class, "This is Utah! This is where me from."
Thailand is the last place the kids visit and is always the biggest. They have there own clean up and set up crew and this year they did Muay Thai and brought Muay Thai boxers from a local school. They did a demonstration (same girl cried again) and after asked for volunteers. Elie jumped right up.
I didn't get a picture of my favorite one--Israel. (My opinion is easily bought, they sent home homemade chocolates.)
So yeah, she probably won't remember her school or any of the neat stuff she got to do but I'm enjoying it.
Quick side note on her school: Rocky was asking her who the cutest boy in her class is and she told him one boy's name. The after a pause said, "He's the smallest. He's so tiny."
Then he switched to asking her who the most handsome boy is and she gave us another name and then said, "Me like to put my shoes by his." Apparently he has really neat shoes.

I hate to say it, but Elie looks pretty good in a Viking helmet. Future PG mascot maybe?
What an awesome school! I think we had one of those in grade school, but the most exotic ours got was Juab county. Glad E is experiencing it all. I agree with Rock, but she's also looking pretty cute in that Bollywood pic...are there any schools with a Bollywood dancer for their mascot!?
Oh I have finally been able to figure out how to comment on your blog! Your blog is so much fun to read, I must admit I am jealous of your many adventures. E is so big and vi is just as cute as can be!!! We miss you and hope life continues to be good to you and your family.
Cultural genius! Good job!!
I would love that school too. Elie looks so dang cute in her Vietnamese get up! She had to be loving it.
