We had another great Songkran. Thanks to our new GoPro, you too can witness it...if only I could learn how to upload videos to blogger. Sorry. These photos will have to do.
This year was Winston's first real Songkran (he's spent the last couple years safe inside the cab). This year he rode in the back. We were worried there would be a lot of tears, based on how miserable and scary it is to have strangers pour ice cold water down your back.He surprised us by not making a peep the whole time and sitting very still on my lap. Probably the quietest and most still he has been in his whole life. Looking back now, it was probably shock. I'm sure he repressed this horrible experience and it will manifest itself later on.
We took our usual tuk tuk around the back streets of our neighborhood. As calm as Winston was, Violet was the opposite. Granted she did have one of the worst spots and it didn't help that her gun (the biggest one, per her request) only shot about 3 inches. She was helpless to defend herself. Unless a motorcycle pulled up next to us, then she let them have it with the 3 inch trickle of water.
Basically the videos we have are of children screaming and parents screaming/laughing. Maybe it's for the best I can't share them publicly.
We have great friends here and no more of them are allowed to move away.
Happy Songkran!
