hike hong kong

One of my favorite things to do in Hong Kong is hike. There are loads of mountains and trails. This time we stayed on Lantau Island which has two days worth of trails circumventing the entire island. Instead we opted for the easy family hike recommended by the hotel.
I would not necessarily consider it an easy family hike. Turns out is was a lot of stairs. But the two six year olds rocked it.
The younger kids: not so much.

We made it to the look out!
Winston was fresh from taking a nap on my back the whole way up.
This girl is the sweetest.
View from the top. I think that might be the last time Winston smiled the whole trip.
Then on to the beach.
Which I tried to explain was more enjoyable because of how hard the hike had been but I think it was lost on them. We will keep trying.

The real reward was the party bath back at our hotel room. I think it might double as a baptismal font. Also, it takes forever to drain so you need to time your baths well as it is also where we put Winston's crib.
And in case you were wondering, the Chinese food was great.
