wan wai kru

Are you ready for a dozen pictures of Eliot doing her traditional Thai dance?  No? Then don't bother scrolling down. That's all I have hear.

No witty comments, just lots of pictures.

Who am I kidding, no one is actually reading this.

Each class at her school gets to perform a traditional dance at a school assembly sometime throughout the year. They wear incredible outfits and work hard on the choreography.

Eliot was pleased as punch to be dancing. She's been practicing shaking her hips for months and no matter what type of dancing she does, she holds her thumb close to her fingers and swirls around her wrist, Thai style. She loves to perform, almost as she loves the fancy outfits.

This year they performed for Wan Wai Krue, which is essentially a teacher appreciation holiday. After the dance, she was selected to give the Kratong (symbolic gift with flowers and incense) to her teacher. She was over the moon excited and happily demonstrated how she had learned the careful and special way to gift the kratong while in a deep, respectful bow.

We love the opportunity to color her world view with these rich traditions and experiences.

Yep, she's just as sweet as can be.
