more bali pics

I finally uploaded my pictures from our trip:

The Bali Bird Park was a big hit with the kids. I'm not sure how big a hit my kids were with the birds...
It was also incredibly hot. Which was training for the next month in Bangkok and the hottest summer on record.

We did do one cultural thing and visited this temple. Apparently you can walk out to it during the low tide. But it was the last stop before horseback riding and the kids (Violet) were antsy to get to the stables.

I'm still a little shocked Winston rode his own horse. It was adorable.

Thank heavens for Hannah. Rocky had to leave halfway through our trip for Algeria and she rearranged her finals so that she could fly out and help me with the kids. And surf. We miss her. After she left, Winston still insisted on setting a place for her at the table next to him.

The beach we stayed at, Seminyak, was really great for learning to surf but not so picture perfect. We spent a day at this beach that was straight out of a post card.

Vi's braids were so adorable. Her favorite part was that she couldn't wash her hair.

Winston loved his hat. He insisted on wearing it everywhere. Which is great because his towhead hair was made him a target for a sunburnt head.
I call them the twins. They are adorable together. Winston waits for Vi to get home from school everyday and then insists on playing with her for an hour before his name. Yesterday when I realized he'd never said his name before, I asked him what his name was and he grinned and said proudly, "Violet!"
These two were incredibly brave with the sharks. Winston was also brave but maybe more stupid. He cannonballed into the black tip shark tank.

 Vacations are exhausting.
