Winston

Anyone who has talked to me lately or been within a 1 kilometer radius of us, knows these past few months have not been easy for Winston. The move from Bangkok in June was hard enough, throw on top another move two months later (to a completely different climate) and then he was dethroned.

There have been ups and downs but I think we are finally getting to the other side. This week he did his own carseat seatbelt, put on his own pants and under wear, and hasn't been dissolving into nearly as many random tantrums.

We love this kid. He is so sweet and kind. He loves Oscar. Who he calls O-car. He insists on giving him a hug and kiss before all of Oscar's naps and always saves a train, plane or car for him--which he puts next to him.

I ended up moving him out of Oscar's room after he always wanted to wake up early so he "could talk to Oscar" now he can wake up early and talk to Eliot. She could use some help waking up in the morning. He's a total clean freak and hates to spill on himself. Our mornings have gotten much easier since we implemented the dish towel bib.
The other day I walked in on this sweet moment of him "reading" his favorite train book to Oscar. He loves the snow. He would play out in it for hours. He never gets cold when he's playing in the snow. As soon as he comes inside he is immediately freezing.
He refuses to slow down to take naps but every now and then he crashes. Usually in the car but sometimes on the couch. His best friend is Violet, who builds the best train tacks. Though she did confide in me that she's tired of playing trains and wishes Winston would want to play something else. He doesn't seem to be growing out of trains any time soon. Rocky took him on the train to run some errands and I found him cuddling with his train ticket a few days later. We sure loves this sweet, kind boy.

He is adorable. Your children are such good friends.
(And I hope you really got a nap on the playroom floor.)
