We didn't because that would be neglectful.
Besides, she cries too much to ignore. (And is much too cute to forget.)
I got her dressed in real clothes and snapped these pictures this morning just so her grandparents don't forget about her.
Vi is up and cruising around. She is now confident enough to walk around the room with one hand on the wall. She has taken a few steps--doubters might call them "falling steps". But at 7 1/2 months, we'll admit, we're impressed. Although we are her parents, so we're easily impressed.
A couple of weeks ago Rocky and I bet on how soon she would be take 10 steps. He set the over/under at 10 months. I took under and am feeling very confident in my choice. I just wish I would have bet more.
"Let me out of this apartment!"
Oh, I'm sorry. If you wanted to leave the apartment ever, you should have been the first child. Go back to your 'second child surplus of toys'.
We love when we can see squirrels run across our balcony. E calls them some Thai name that I can't remember.
Number one reason she's not walking yet, her legs are tiny and her hair is huge.
Number two: she's part koala bear/part baby sloth. She would prefer to be hanging out in my lap or carried around to anything else. After having E, crazy, independent child, this is taking some getting use to but she's still sweet and we love her.
When she's happy she sweetly chants, "Dadadadada."
Rocky will be the first to point out that has nothing to do with him, who, unfortunately for me, falls dangerously low on her preference totem pole. E, on the other hand, is very high, despite the wrestling matches and occasional suffocation scares. All E has to do is walk in the room and Vi perks up and starts laughing.

She's so pretty, I love her bow too. That is awesome she's almost walking! Not surprised at all:)
Thanks from one set of Grandparents. We could never forget that little Beauty. Sarah, I think you are a shoe in for the bet! Looks like She will take off any day. Thanks again the pictures are darling!
Sarah, I read you guest post on Stephanie's blog and then read the comments. I don't feel like I'm a particularly articulate person so I generally dont' feel comfortable commenting on her blog so I will on yours :)
I'm sorry that so many people took the kind words that you said and twisted them into something that they weren't. I think that you spoke from your heart and from your experiences just like stephanie does from hers even though you points of view are different. I think you summed it up the best when you said that we just hope our talking about something we believe in will bring others around us joy and most importantly closer to Christ and in turn bring us closer as well. Hindus might say the same thing about Buddha or Muslims about Muhammad. We are not the only religion that talks about our faith and our Love of God. And I think that being a good genuine friend to people and knowing that they are children of God is a way of being a missionary. Teaching your children is being a missionary. Having spiritual discussions with family members and strengthening testimonies is being a missionary. Just because we are friends with someone doesn't mean we are trying to convert them just like you said. I hope any of this even makes sense. I think by Stephanie's comments she knows you and respects you and she probably does agree to disagree with you on many things, but she knows that what you spoke is from you heart and you faith and that is not something that people need to dispute with.
Sorry that is so long. apparently I'm not good at commenting in paragraphs ;)
With Vi walking already and you running 7 miles, it looks like the Smarts are beating the Woods in every way.
Thanks from the other set of grandparents. We can't wait to see her at Christmastime. She may be running by then!
