halloween

 We celebrated Halloween this year!

Vi was a ladybug. I bought the costume at Costco this summer (without the undershirt because that would be torture). And Elie was a "batgirl princess." I had grand illusions of making her a creative, homemade costume, but when I saw a stall selling reasonably priced costumes--I couldn't pass up how easy it was. It was handmade so that counts. Right? Sort of?
I drew some spots on Vi's cheeks and then tried to draw some bats on E's and ended up wiping them off and asking her if she just wanted spots like a ladybug. I have few talents and drawing is definitely not one of them. Luckily E's a good sport.

We went trick or treating in our buiding complex and E came home with a lot of candy, she's a smart girl and as soon as she got back she said, "Mom, here's all my chocolate." Unfortunately, all her chocolate was two mini twix bars and a tiny crunch bar. On the bright side, we have a surplus of Thai candy I will never be tempted to eat.
With their cousins. Vi is growing up so fast.

Those costumes look so cute! Now I know where the saying came from, "Cute as a Bug!" Abe and Mary look so cute too, but they look like they have totally opposite feelings about getting their picture taken.
