phone dump

Here are some really poor quality photos from my phone that sort of document things around our house.
This is Eliot's picture outside her classroom. I love it.
I dragged her to the salon to get a trim and halfway through her shampoo she told me she wanted to cut all her hair off and give it to someone who doesn't have any hair (like Mary did). I looked at her scraggly, thin hair and kindly tried to dissuade her. A few minutes later she told me, "I think I want to cut it off anyway, it's really hot." So much for growing it out like Rapunzel.
This is a mother bird and some eggs. Sure, it may look like an elephant, but apparently asking if it is an elephant is a bit offensive.
On one of Eliot's days off school, I took her and Violet to an indoor play place. This was Vi's favorite thing. You sit on the ball, hold on to the rope and it swings across like a zip line. I think it's geared towards older children with more arm strength. After a few times, Vi kept falling off. She still wouldn't let anyone else have a turn and kept right on puppy guarding it for another 10 minutes.
For E's birthday, I took her and Abe and Mary ice skating. These penguins are $3 to rent and the best invention in a while.
Rocky and I got back from Vietnam the night before Eliot's birthday. These were our party hats. All that pink around her mouth is side effect of a life of mischief. I heard, "mmm yum mmm yum yum" coming out of the kitchen but it didn't really register. I came in too late and found her on a stool, helping herself to the birthday cake. At least she enjoyed it.
Eliot opted for one that was a little more traditional.
 The birthday that never ends.
Almost everyday Eliot brings me home notes. They are always addressed to "Sarah" or "rasah" or other scrambled takes on my name. I love them. This one is a fireman and a fire. She's a bit obsessed with fire lately. I heard her telling a friend the other day, "Let's pretend we're sisters and our parents were fired and then eaten." It was a bit graphic for me.

The other night right before bed she told me, "Mom, I like you just a little bit more than dad. But don't tell him because he'll be really angry." I did tell him and I may have mentioned it almost everyday since.
Here Vi is helping me pack away all our baby girl clothes. She is becoming more and more fun. She still can't talk well at all but she can say yes or no. So basically, all day is a game of twenty questions. She has no idea what changes are about to happen around here.

More on our Vietnam trip and Eliot's birthday to come.

This is a precious little entry. Your girls are so cute! They are beautiful and totally unique. I think along with climbing skills, Violet inherited Rocky's speech skills too! Eliot is giving just like both of you! It's so cute she wanted to give her hair away! I hate mother in laws giving advice, but I learned this from some early artwork... always say,"Tell me about your picture or creation." It doesn't always work, but sometimes.
