In a moment of what was either weakness or homesickness, we signed Eliot up for T-Ball. She had her first game last weekend. Unfortunately, from how hot it was it was, it was clearly held on the face of the sun. Also, we got stuck behind a motorcade on the expressway on our way home.
Luckily, Eliot and her friends/cousins liked it a lot. Their feelings were summed up well when at the top of the third inning (the last one) the coach was handing out positions, and Eliot came running up to us with a look of sheer relief shouting, "Mom, they said I can go home!"Boy was she thrilled when we explained 'home' did not mean our actual home, but just another spot on the field of flames.
On the hour and half drive home, Eliot told us, "I don't want to go back to soccer again."
Me, "You mean T-Ball"
E, 'Yes"
Me, "What did you not like about it?"
E, "All the running."
All jokes aside, Rocky and I loved it. It was completely hilarious.
Winston loved it too. He spent the entire time in something similar to a heat coma.

Cool mascot. Being a pirate forces little ball players to be hopeful, because the Pirates (with the exception of this year) never win. Good luck!
I know grandparents love to watch their grandchildren play ball, but maybe -- since the temperature is about the same as the face of the sun --it's good that we can't see it in person. Keep the blog posts coming!!
This is so funny! Brings back a lot of memories. One of our kids was a pirate I just can't remember who! Elie reminds me of some of my kids too (about the running). I actually remember who that was, but maybe I won't mention names.
