winst the prince

How many babies who are born on the opposite side of the world from their family get to have three grandmas visiting at one time? Winston was a lucky boy and we took advantage of it by choosing the Sunday they overlapped to give him his name and blessing.

It's hard to tell which sister he is more afraid of. Vi is completely unpredictable. She can give him soft kisses and softly pat his head or using him as a stacking board for all of her wooden trains or put her palm to his face and announce, "baby 'appy!"

E on the other hand is consistently intense with him. She does not use baby talk. Instead it sounds more like she is Jack Baur interrogating a terrorist with only minutes before a major disaster is going to happen.  (Of course, if she was Jack Baur it would be the first of several major disasters, each one part of a slightly less believable plot. Oh no the terrorists are going to blow up the mall, oh wait it's all part of their plan to take over air force one, oh wait it's all part of a bigger plan to occupy the moon and enslave us via robots.)

Eliot's daily dialogue with Winst, "Oh, you little cutie, you so sweet." Said between gritted teeth, while she hugs him fiercely and his wide frightened eyes search desperately for adult intervention. Yep, he sure lucked out when it came to older siblings.
What's this? A family photo snapped minutes before church where 4/5 of us are looking at the camera? Unbelievable. Violet is tightly clenching both her and her cousin, Maeser's, Thomas trains in fear that he might realize what she's taken and demand it back.

He was sweet and it was special. We feel awfully blessed to have him around. I'm sure he's still unsure about us but hopefully we can win him over.
