winst!

Winston turned one. 

A couple weeks ago. Rocky and Eliot were in the USA, so Violet and I patiently waited to celebrate. At one Winston is walking nearly steadily, laughing, shaking his head "no" and hugging. He is by far our most cuddly child. 

Between Scooter and Violet, he puts up with a lot. We are very grateful he is part of our family. 

 Fascinated with our neighbors Chihuahuas. I'm sure he's thinking, "They are so small, I bet they never knock over anyone. I also doubt they can jump their front paws onto my high chair tray and try to lick off my food."

 Why is he moving so fast with such a worried expression?

 That's just Violet behind him with her favorite toy, a giant water gun. She refills it several times a day, lays in wait for the unsuspecting and then pounds them, shouting, "Me git you with my biiiiiiig water gun!". Poor Scooter runs and hides whenever he sees it. He's a bit faster than Winst.

 The night Rocky and E got back into town, we made a big cake for Winst. He wanted nothing to do with it. He wouldn't even touch it and instead demanded cupcakes like we were eating. Seems we have duped him one too many times into eating baby food and vegetables while we eat...well, other stuff.

 This is Scooter's sweet spot.

 He was a big fan of the cupcake.

 And eventually got to the real cake. (looks like I caught Rocky on camera sneaking Scooter food. This explains a lot.)

It took about 25 second for Violet to commandeer all his presents and stash them away where only she will find them.

Such is the cost of having a wily and efficient older sister.

In even greater news, we went in for Winston's third ultrasound since birth to monitor his hydronephrosis. His kidneys have reduced so much in dilation that they can be considered normal. No further monitoring needed. Winston's thrilled beyond belief as having an ultrasound done on your kidneys is rarely pleasant, besides he's getting sick of people responding to his ultrasound by asking if he's expecting a boy or a girl.

He is our little prince.
