summer phone dump

I let my kids do a photo booth and it was a solid waste of money. Their first frosties weren't.

Cul-de-sac of Fire. Rocky looks down on my family because we don't wait until it's dark to do fireworks, but I'm no huge fan of fireworks.  I'd rather get them over and enjoy my peace and quiet that living in a free and peaceful country provides.

So far our kids don't mind and are impressed by our giant box of fireworks that was filled with essentially duplicates of the exact same fireworks.

Winston and Ricker playing cars. Violet requested I take this photo of her with the horse.
Haircuts. Winston finally got a hair cut. And yes, it is exactly what I requested. Every time I look at him I laugh. He is blond Spock. It's adorable. He has been getting so much attention (because he looks hilarious) he loves it and enjoys pointing out his new haircut. And then going off to find something yellow. Preferably a yellow car.

He requested a yellow Lightening McQueen and I actually found one at the first shop I tried. It was a miracle. When I showed it to him, I expected him to be more impressed--Lightening McQueen is not a yellow car, this is a big deal--but he seemed total unsurprised. I was a bit offended.

Violet loving Rachel's concert in the park.
And swimming so much her hair was green all summer long.
Winston doing his best to help Rocky get over jet lag.  The day before we flew out, I asked Eliot to wash her's and Winston's shoes (Native brand, basically an upscale croc). She put them out in the sun to dry and they melted. We frantically looked for replacements but couldn't find her size. Instead she opted for these, which she says are so comfortable it's like not wearing any shoes at all. We have since discovered they are not ideal for hiking...
