airbnb and vrbo are my new favorite sites to look from places to stay on vacation. Since we have three kids, I would prefer not to share a room with all of them. I'm too cheap to rent two hotel rooms and I can't fit all of them in the bathroom. So we like to book apartments or home rentals and have a space to ourselves. When searching for places in Chiang Mai, I saw the "treehouse" box and, on a whim, decided to check it.
The Rabeang Pasak Treehouse Resort is about 50 minutes outside Chiang Mai and is a collection of about 10 tree houses designed by a local architect. We stayed in star house, which had three beds in two rooms and a loft as well as a flushing toilet and warm water. This is the type of camping I like to do. We loved it so much.
We did some nature walking and caught some butterflies. It was in the 70s during the day and got down as low is 50s in the night. This is about a 40 degree swing for us. Luckily we brought our one pair of long pants each (except Violet who doesn't own one and had to wear pajama pants) and after our freezing experience in Singapore Gardens by the Bay, I went out and bought everyone a sweater. They came in very handy. Especially for me who often wore two.
Explored some local bat caves.
This might be my favorite picture of the year. Just look at Eliot and Winston's faces.
We can't wait to come back here.
