tis the season

We started out the Christmas season with a view different performances. Our kids volunteered to be part of a choir that would sing at a local charity event.

If Violet looks dazed it's because she's never seen so many people looking at her.
If Eliot looks sad it's because she feels she was just cheated out of a Heads Up Seven Up victory right before coming out to sing.
Then we had the school performances. Violet came out with her class looking very unhappy. As they started to dance, she gave her signature frown and then turned her back for the rest of the song.

Afterwards I asked her about it and she said it was really fun, she loved the dancing.
Eliot performed a jazz number and sung in choir for the entire program. Afterwards she said, "Those other kids in Violet's class must not know what Christmas trees really look like. Violet has perfected the art of being a Christmas tree."

A few days before Christmas we hit up a local mall that has a snow world. The snow is essentially shaved ice and the sledding hill is 10 feet long but our kids had a blast.

Every time Winston got to the end of the hill he immediately announced, 'more."

We were able to scramble some warm gear for the kids--though most of it was mine and Rocky's expedition gear so it didn't fit especially well. Violet doesn't own a single pair of long pants, Winston was kind enough to loan her his church pants.

 Yay, Christmas!

I'm not sure what we're all so excited about here but after I saw this I really regretted already sending out our Christmas cards, well, there's always next year.

As usual we spent Christmas eve handing out popcorn at Rocky's office. Eliot continues to love it and takes about 30 selfies, while Violet and Winston have a hard time parting with each bag of popcorn.

Christmas morning was great.
We got our kids sleeping bags and they some how got they idea we would then take them camping. Instead we built a tent out of sheets and had a TMNT marathon. Bullet dodged.

Rocky won Christmas with this vintage Dutch moped. Now if I could figure out how to get it started in under 10 minutes. I picked Eliot up from a playdate on it the other day and when we stalled out waiting to turn, she debated walking home.

Merry Christmas!
